I have over 25 years' experience as both a consultant and as a senior local authority planner. While I have wide-ranging knowledge across all forms of statutory and spatial planning, my skills focus on finding solutions to complex planning issues.

I have considerable involvement in the administration and preparation of regional and district plans from both a policy and consenting perspective. I am skilled at understanding the implementation of plans and solution-focused in developing policy, and preparation and processing of documents for resource consents including assessments of effects on the environment reports. I often manage complex plan change and consenting projects; providing guidance to applicants and technical advisors. I have worked on energy, residential, commercial, rural, recreation, community, and coastal marine developments within a wide variety of natural and built environments.

My work is deeply involved in public and stakeholder engagement, developing engagement plans and carrying out all types of engagement processes. I hold an IAP2 Certificate in Public Participation and am committed to undertaking consultation processes appropriate to each project and ensuring stakeholder input into decision-making processes. I usually work within a team environment and maintain a high level of written communication and analytical skills, which I utilise in preparing reports and presenting evidence for major New Zealand companies and statutory authorities.
