Landscape Planning Workshops

10 January 2019

In late November and early December, landscape architects and landscape planners throughout the company attended Landscape and Visual Effects Assessment (LVA) workshops run by James Bentley.

The workshop focussed on refining and aligning our company-wide skills in assessing landscape and visual effects by providing a forum in which to discuss pertinent matters around our methodology.

Tom Lines, a landscape architect in the Auckland office says, "James’ roadshow was fantastic. I think everyone, regardless their level of experience, learned something new about best practice assessment writing in Boffa Miskell."

Discussions centred around writing styles and report formats, differentiating landscape and visual effects, integrating our understanding of what triggers effects as well as tips around what makes a good assessment.

The output of these sessions is to create a standardised format for Landscape Visual Assessment reports and an update to our company methodology. These initiatives will ensure that there is a commonality between all Boffa Miskell offices in Landscape Visual Assessments whilst still maintaining a level of individualisation.
