21 October 2026

Boffa Miskell’s landscape architecture and urban design is represented in four winning projects at the 2026 Designers Institute of New Zealand’s Best Design Awards.

Leading the recognition is Te Rua Archives New Zealand, which received Gold in both the Public, Private and Institutional Spaces and Toitanga categories. Working alongside Warren and Mahoney, Boffa Miskell helped integrate the building and civic landscape, creating a public realm grounded in the narratives and identity of the whenua.

Boffa Miskell also contributed landscape architecture to Gold-winning Wynyard Quayside and Silver-winning New Zealand International Convention Centre, demonstrating the value of close design collaboration between practitioners in the natural and built environments in shaping cohesive, people-focused places.

JTB Architects were awarded a Bronze for the Port Tarakohe Building. Boffa Miskell developed landscape documentation and provided landscape architecture services for the project.
