Kaimātai Hauropi | Ecologist
Kaiarataki | Professional
My interest in the natural environment has led me down the path of becoming an ecologist. I have worked on a range of different projects, from small-scale planting plans to large-scale industrial developments with complex ecology.
I have experience in a variety of ecological work in both freshwater and terrestrial fields, which includes (but is not limited to) electric fishing, bat surveys, and writing reports. Engaging with clients is also an important part of the role, which requires balancing their expectations with ecologically friendly outcomes.
I enjoy using my skills and expertise to help protect our natural resources where possible. Working collaboratively with others and being part of a cross-disciplinary approach is also a bonus.
