Kaimātai Hauropi | Ecologist
Kaiwhiri | Associate Principal
My work focusses predominantly on native bats, and includes energy, forestry, quarry, infrastructure and housing development projects. I have extensive experience with survey and mitigation methods from New Zealand and the UK and hold Department of Conservation competencies to work with bats.
Working within large consultancies, as well as running my own business, has given me an appreciation of the range of inputs required to successfully manage a project from initial scoping through to the construction phase.
It is an exciting time to be involved in the developing field of bat research in New Zealand and I am keen to apply my experience to help clients find evidence-based solutions that provide the project objectives and positive ecological outcomes.
