Kaiarataki Te Hīhiri | Strategic Advisor Māori
Kaiwhiri | Associate Principal
I was born and raised in Te Tai Tokerau, and my iwi is Te Rarawa and Ngāpuhi.
My role is to help develop the Te Hīhiri discipline as a trusted advisor for iwi, hapu and Māori organisations who need access to planning, design and ecological services and to provide cultural and strategic advice to councils, government agencies and the private sector.
I'm passionate about Te Tiriti and equity having recently helped develop core training in Te Tiriti and Te Ao Māori as part of the new health sector reforms, led a nationwide hauora iwi internship programme to build the next generation of iwi leaders across the country, and have provided cultural advice and support to a number of nation-wide health promotion campaigns.
I love bringing a Te Ao Māori perspective to all the work I do and enjoy the opportunity to work with iwi and hapu to help achieve their dreams and aspirations and tell their stories.
When I'm not working, I love getting out amongst nature and enjoy tramping, biking and cold-water dipping with my partner and her dog Gus.
