Gone are the days of traditional regional shopping centres that offer just a retail experience. Sylvia Tower is the catalyst to transform Sylvia Park into a vibrant mixed-use precinct.

The proposed tower provides workspaces and accommodation, along with retail and hospitality options, all within the same envelope. These functions support the existing Sylvia Park precinct by focusing on user experience and enhancing the surrounding community.

Enhanced and pedestrianised outdoor public spaces with high level of amenity are the essential ‘glue’ between buildings for any successful urban precinct. For Sylvia Tower, these include a shared entry area, revamped streetscape, pedestrian thoroughfare, outdoor seating areas, water feature and green roof.

The design celebrates the natural assets of the site, allowing movement to occur through and around the property. Access and arrival nodes are complemented by opportunities for pausing and gathering. The design and materiality of both the existing landscape and the proposed Sylvia Tower building are reflected in the key features of the landscape elements.

The site was once bisected by a historical stream, which presents a unique opportunity to commemorate the heritage in landscape features and reveal the site’s cultural history. Thoughtfully integrated into place, and aligning with user demographics to provide a holistic experience, the new development will become a place to discover, inhabit and return to.
