Sylvia Park BTR will be one of the first true Build to Rent developments in New Zealand.

The development aims to establish a vibrant and healthy community, comprising three separate residential buildings located around a central communal open plaza and private residents’ pavilion.

The heart of the outdoor space, the north-facing communal open plaza will encourage to come outside to relax and socialise. It will be a hybrid of hard and soft spaces with feature lawns, paved areas and decks. The lawn areas will be raised to incorporate seating edges, and there will be a series of pocket spaces for smaller gatherings and relaxation. Other landscape features include informal community gardens and restored riparian planting along the existing watercourse. The proposed boardwalk access to the south of the site will maximise the connectivity to the Sylvia Park development.

The landscape design strategy will contribute to establishing the Sylvia Park BTR as a community-focused, sustainable and safe residential development. This accessible neighbourhood will be a place to discover and inhabit and a place for every community member to enjoy.
