Rebecca Ryder receives the Beca Women in Property Award

The Property Council New Zealand Central Property People Awards recognise the people behind the local projects and developments in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions. The Women in Property Award recognises someone who has consistently demonstrated a passion for property, contributing to both their organisation and the property industry as a whole.

The judges commended Rebecca’s pivotal role in shaping Tauranga’s open spaces and revitalisation projects, fostering collaboration with mana whenua, the community, and key stakeholders.

“Rebecca’s enduring legacy is defined not only by her exceptional work ethic and leadership but also by her unwavering commitment to giving back, both within her organisation and in the broader community”, said judge Brian Squair of Chow:Hill Architects.

Rebecca is a partner and director at Boffa Miskell; she is based in Tauranga and was one of the first people hired when that office opened in 2001.

Rebecca has contributed significantly to public and commercial spaces throughout Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty. These projects are visible representations of her skill and enhance the social and economic environment of the region. She is currently the project lead for the Memorial Park to CBD Walkway | Te Hononga ki Te Awanui; Stage One of a series of projects which will transform the Tauranga waterfront.

Rebecca’s extensive project leadership in the area of open space planning and reserve management plans includes: Tauranga City Reserve Management Plans; McLaren Falls, Omanawa Falls, Yatton Park and Memorial Park Reserve Management Plans (2005 – 2006); and Havelock Hills Reserve Management Plan (2021 – ongoing)

Earlier this year, Rebecca was named a Fellow of Tuia Pito Ora | New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects.
