Waterloo Park recognised for Urban Design Excellence
16 October 2018
Congratulations to Waterloo Business Park - winner of the Resene Urban Design Award at the 2018 Property Council New Zealand Southern Excellence Awards.
Located on the former Islington Freezing Works site, Waterloo Business Park has been developed in accordance with a comprehensive masterplan designed to create a functional area with the ability to grow, adapt and evolve over time.
“The judges were highly complimentary of the sense of community achieved by this project and emphasised the powerful importance of custodianship through the prioritisation of people as well as strong environmental considerations. The overall concept and design encourages people to live, work and play within the development and in a competitive market the success of Waterloo Business Park speaks for itself,” said South Island Branch president Roger Davidson.
Boffa Miskell landscape architects and urban designers helped our client, Waterloo Business Park, create an environment purpose-built to underpin the concept of interweaving work and leisure activities within the site.
The Boffa Miskell Ltd project team included Mark Brown, project manager; Katie Chilton, Laura Pyne, Jane Rennie and Megan Walker.
Our project partners were Davis Ogilvie & Partners Ltd, H-E-B and Streetscape Ltd.
