Kaihoahoa Whenua | Landscape Architect
Kaiarataki Matua | Senior Professional
My interests lie in the challenge of combining creativity and innovation with practicality and functionality to ensure a high-quality design outcome is delivered on time and within budget. I also enjoy the diversity of skills and responsibilities my role as a landscape architect demands and thrive on the collaborative nature of the profession.
My experience includes working on projects of varying scales from community masterplans and public open spaces to high-density residential developments and rooftop gardens. Taking projects from the conceptual design phase through to construction implementation has honed my skills in project coordination, concept design and development, report writing and client presentation.
I worked in Sydney, Australia over a seven-year period, and gained extensive experience in the private development sector. In addition to my work in practice, I was a member of the teaching staff within the Landscape Architecture programme at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in the roles of tutor, course convener and lecturer.
