Kaiwhakamahere | Planner
Pouwhiri Matua | Senior Principal
With over two decades’ experience, both as a policy planner and as a regulatory planner, I have in-depth and thorough understanding of the Resource Management Act 1991 and its practical application to a wide range of development proposals, planning assessments and policy provisions.
I have worked extensively in consent planning, including the preparation of documents for resource consents, notices of requirement (designations), plan changes, assessment of effects on the environment reports and policy analysis. For the past 10 years, I have been involved in policy development and assessment, with a particular focus on infrastructure. I am highly experienced in preparing assessment of environmental effects as well as assessments of resource management plans and development of planning provisions. In addition to the regulatory and policy experience, I have experience in consultation and have an accredited International Certificate in Public Participation (IAP2).
I have also prepared and presented expert planning evidence at council hearings for a range of clients over the past 25 years. I am also an accredited RMA decision-maker.
