Kaihoahoa Tūāpapa | Urban Designer
Kaiarataki | Professional
I am passionate about enabling people to live more sustainably in our increasingly urban environments, whilst ensuring they are able to maintain a high quality of life. I believe that improving access to good quality green spaces and opportunities for recreation are essential for sustaining a growing population.
My skills lie in preparing graphic diagrams which present complex ideas in an understandable way, as well as using Building Information Modelling (BIM) to document design and collaborate between disciplines and further Boffa Miskell's journey to becoming a leader in BIM for landscape architecture and urban design.
I have worked on a diverse range of projects from large scale housing and wetland masterplans, right through to preparing design details for public spaces and retirement villages. A highlight for me has been helping to deliver Stage One of the Te Nukutai o Tapoa / Naval Point Development Plan, a waterfront promenade on the edge of Whakaraupō / Lyttelton Harbour.
I believe in the value of a multi-disciplinary approach to design and the importance of collaboration from the outset. Thinking about problems holistically is essential for generating the best social, environmental and economic outcomes.
