Consented expansion of existing quarry within part of the ‘green backdrop’ character along the Western Escarpment within the Hutt Valley.
This required a careful understanding of the specific site context to identify and manage the nature and extent of visual effects. Project included staged visual simulations showing the progression of work and a robust rehabilitation strategy implemented following progressive extraction activity.
