Adding value to Crown land through effective project management and expert advice.

Boffa Miskell was engaged by Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) in 2009 to provide biosecurity services across their national Unalienated Crown Land (UCL) portfolio.

Day-to-day works involve significant project management of biosecurity operations across terrestrial and aquatic environments to ensure LINZ’s strategic objectives are being met, in compliance with Regional Pest Management Plans (RPMPs) and other statutory documents, and that work is undertaken collaboratively with key stakeholders to enable efficient and effective biosecurity outcomes.

As part of the services, our consultants manage an array of contracts such as helicopter, boat and ground-based spraying of terrestrial and aquatic weeds, commercial divers performing aquatic weed removal and contractors carrying out predator and rabbit control activities.

In 2014 LINZ and Boffa Miskell formed a Strategic Biosecurity Partnership, with the aim of focusing on innovative solutions to achieve our collective biosecurity goals. The Partnership, which is in place through to 2026, enables us to deliver a variety of bespoke work packages for LINZ, including carrying out ecological assessments, securing resource consents, capturing imagery using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV’s), producing landscape concept designs to add value to key sites, and reviewing statutory documents and preparing submissions on behalf of LINZ.

We develop management plans for the long-term management of invasive species and invest in innovative technologies and solutions to deliver better biosecurity outcomes.
