Kaimātai Hauropi | Ecologist
Pouwhiri | Principal
I have led ecological assessment, restoration, and effects management projects from large-scale infrastructure projects to small-scale property scale assessments. These include single-discipline ecological projects to large multi-disciplinary projects.
The projects I have been involved in have included residential and industrial development, sustainable energy, transport, infrastructure, biosecurity, conservation, restoration, land management, environmental strategy and policy, plan changes, and general ecological advice to a wide spectrum of clients. This wide breadth of projects has involved working with private developers, iwi groups, central government, local government, community groups, the defence force, and industry groups.
I value and enjoy complicated projects where ecological input and advice is sought from the start and are part of the design, strategy, and staging. This enables strategies to be developed to ensure project success and the best outcome environmentally. It is my professional goal to focus on the sustainable use of our natural resources by developing robust, ecologically sound strategies to ensure the maintenance and enhancement of biodiversity and ecosystem services.
