Tīhei Mauri Ora!

Nōreira, ko wai au?

He uri ahau nō Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Rongomaiwahine, Ngāti Raukawa ki Te Tonga, Rangitāne me Muaūpoko hoki.

I tipu ake au i raro i Te Mata o Rongokako, engari, e noho ana ahau ki Tāmaki Herenga Waka, Tāmaki Herenga Tangata ināianei.

E ngā mana, e ngā reo, e ngā karangataha maha o te motu, tēnei te mihi ki a kōutou.

My whakapapa to our landscape is what drives my passion and my work as a landscape architect and a cultural design advisor. I work collaboratively with clients, tangata whenua and consultants, embedding both te ao Māori and te ao Pākehā design and processes. I have experience across landscape design, community and cultural engagement, cultural landscape assessment, urban design, masterplanning public and private spaces, restorative design, technical guidance (local and national), education/teaching and research.

I enjoy working with communities through a holistic worldview, creating spaces that reflect local stories, the landscape and the people. I am a confident communicator and facilitator when building relationships and appreciate opportunities to grow my own understanding of mātauranga, te reo me ōna tikanga with iwi, hapū and whānau. My technical skills encompass graphic communication, strategic analysis, design and planning, modelling and assessment/report writing.

I have a strong interest in taking projects from engagement to concept design, developed/detailed design through to implementation whilst also ensuring reciprocity. I have been fortunate to lead projects at various stages and always strive to develop and grow through sharing knowledge and learning from others. Being a representative across professional committees and groups, I have been able to ensure our commitments to Te Tiriti are met and provide positive outcomes for all.

As a Māori landscape architect, I hope to continue expanding and integrating our unique Indigenous cultural identity through design and engagement, ensuring the health and well-being of whenua (landscape) and tangata (people).
