I have always been fascinated by the way landscapes can be shaped to create new spatial relationships, and how design can be both beautiful and improve the quality of life for both communities and the natural environment.
Initially from Nelson, I grew up next to beautiful South Island coastlines and national parks full of native flora. This appreciation for the outdoors coupled with a passion for design encouraged my move to Wellington where I studied landscape architecture. During my studies, I tutored and assisted in several undergrad and postgraduate courses focusing on landscape conceptual design. In the final year of my Master’s Degree, my thesis discussed the theoretical ambiguity of unbuilt leftover spaces that remained around the Wellington Highway with an effort to utilise these loud and often uncomfortable spaces.
I have worked on a variety of projects ranging from small residential gardens and streetscapes to large-scale public parks and subdivision projects. These vary in design phases from early concept renderings and resource consent packs through to detailed design and construction documentation. My current strengths are bringing a wide range of technical program knowledge and graphical presentation skills specialising in:
- Building information modelling (BIM) for landscape architecture.
- Autodesk (Revit & AutoCAD)
- Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign)
- Sketchup
- Enscape
- Hand-sketching
I am excited to apply my knowledge and skills to create impactful projects that positively contribute to the built environment.
