Kaihoahoa Whenua | Landscape Architect
Kaihere | Associate Partner
I have over 25 years' experience master planning, developing, and delivering a wide range of landscape projects. I have a strong interest in leading projects from the initial concept through to successful implementation, and I enjoy coaching my colleagues through the process and seeing people engage with the final product.
I've been the landscape design manager for notable infrastructure projects including the Waterview Connection tunnels, the NCTIR (Kaikoura) transport recovery, and the Victoria Park Tunnel. I manage a portfolio of land developments and senior living village projects; and my experience includes large-scale revegetation projects and golf course development work.
I particularly enjoy working on multi-disciplinary projects and seeing the combined expertise of a diverse team of specialists create outstanding results. I'm very experienced in presenting to project stakeholders and facilitating supportive relationships with clients and contractors.
I've previously served as the Managing Principal of the Auckland office, where I was charged with looking after the interests of the staff. I have mentored early-career landscape architects through the NZILA Registration process, and I sit on the Registration Interview Panel.
