Kaiwhakamahere | Planner
Pouwhiri Matua | Senior Principal
During my career, I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to work across a diversity of areas within the planning profession. I have worked with both territorial authorities and regional councils and have experience in policy development and implementation under the Resource Management Act, with a particular focus on policy formulation and the administration of associated processes, from initial strategy development and consultation right through to environment court hearings. This includes involvement in the preparation of plan changes, district plan reviews, regional policy statements and conservation management strategies.
I also have experience preparing and processing resource consents and notices of requirement on behalf of both private or corporate applicants and consent authorities. My previous roles have frequently included project management skills and the coordination of input from different technical experts required as part of the production of planning documents and the assessment of environmental effects (AEEs).
I am a practised communicator experienced in community consultation and facilitation processes and have successfully managed engagement during contentious community projects.
