Kaihoahoa Whenua | Landscape Architect
Pouwhiri Matua | Senior Principal
I specialise in evaluating natural character, landscape and visual effects which includes advice and input on site and route selection for a range of infrastructure, energy and utility projects and providing integrated design solutions and mitigation strategies in both urban and rural locations.
I have been involved in numerous plan changes, resource consents and the notice of requirements processes. I have also given expert evidence in relation to landscape and visual matters at council hearings.
Prior to working at Boffa Miskell, I gained professional experience in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and Asia among interdisciplinary design teams. My national and international experience has included involvement in large and small-scale design projects, master planning, feasibility studies and landscape and visual effects assessments. This has provided me with a wide range of abilities which have evolved into a strong interest in minimising conventional development impacts on the environment through good design.
