Kaiwhakahaere Whakamaru Taiao | Biosecurity Project Manager
Pouhere | Partner
I am an experienced project manager who thrives when managing complex ecological restoration projects in highly sensitive environments. I specialise in biosecurity and am passionate about managing pests and weeds that are having a detrimental impact on our indigenous species, our outstanding natural landscapes, our cultural and recreational values and the economic potential of our country.
I hold a depth of knowledge in weed and pest management control tools and techniques and am skilled in determining efficient and effective pathways to deliver results that enhance our environment. I possess strong contract management skills, which include the design of fit-for-purpose contracts, effective engagement and management of a skilled contractor workforce, and a working knowledge of relevant legislation to manage project risks.
My work includes managing a national portfolio of large biosecurity programmes, which utilises over 25 subcontracting companies and a team of up to 35 consultants and support staff across five of Boffa Miskell's core disciplines. Effective communication is a strength and I'm at my best when working closely with clients and leading teams of people towards achieving common objectives.
